I have a 2000 holograph standing liberty and a 2001 painted standing liberty both from morgan mint. Why is it that I never see these coins mentioned here? These were givin to me as b-day gifts from the folks. They are both slabbed. The holograph is beautifully toned except for the holograph parts and looks amazing.

Generally speaking, most of us collect US Mint issues or issues from "government approved" sources (here I'm referring to private mints from the civil war, or from the old west). Coins issued by private mints recently, those which have been painted, layered in gold, etc. are not considered true collectibles in the sense that we talk about them around here.
<< <i>After reviewing the Mogan Mint site, I've noticed that they have old coins for sale in proof sets for a very low price. Is this because they have these manufactured for them or are they fake? >>
Either they're:
-Copies
-Not as cheap as you think
-Cleaned to hell and back (if they're real, this is likely)
What year is the set?
