  • Yea he got "knocked the f#@k out". He just didn't look the same. He didn't even have his guard up when he got knocked out. His arm was down by his side.

  • RJ fought his whole career with his arms down to his side. The difference now is that he dosen't have the same reflexes at 35 that he had at an earlier age. He still has great hand speed but the problem with Roy seems to be he's getting hit WAY more than he used too and his ability to take a great punch is not the best. You can't teach a good chin.

What a sad sight. He got pummelled. His head bouncing off the canvas was probably more damaging than the punch that put him down. I am very surprised he hasn't changed his style some to be more aggressive, rather than dodging punches and counter punching....which obviously no longer works with a decent opponent who takes the fight to him and keeps him on the ropes.

  • i heard he laid on his back for 4 minutes with his eyes barely open.. and he left in an ambulance..

its time to call it quits, before dain bramage sets in.. as koby said, he didnt get knocked out.. he got KTFO..

If he is willing to realize it is time to change his style, and still has the desire to box, he will be back. He has never had any defense with his hands....he has always used head and body speed to dodge punches and then counterpunch (his offense). He still has great hand speed, conditioning, and legs. But he should quit if he thinks he can win by boxing the way he has in the past. He can now be hit when forced on the ropes...and that takes away his whole game.

I think he laid on the canvass that long partly becuase of the concussion from his head banging on the canvass, but also partly from disbelief and embarrassment. No post-fight interviews as a result. He doesn't need the money from boxing another match, but I think he is such a competitor that he will re-invent himself and be back. Regards.
