grade weight of 10- johnny bench-COMING SOON !!

hi all,

one of the true "holy grail" cards of johnny bench. 1968 kahns wieners (johnnys rookie year) these are so hard to come by, unless you`ve
tried to find one, you might not understand JUST how rare they really are.

psa has only graded 4 of these. 1-(psa-6), 2-(psa-7), 1-(psa-8).

on top of that, there are NONE on ANY psa registry set !! but there will be soon !! it will join my #1 ranked johnny bench master set.

A HUGE THANK YOU GOES OUT TO BOB FISK !! he helped me find this rare item.

Congrats, Lee! I really must thank you as well for being so far out front. Because once I get to #2, I can devote some money and attention to my other sets. Since no way will I be able to catch you. Maybe some day we can visit each other's Bench shrines.

  • hi all,

i`ll try to answer calleocho`s question on why its so rare.

    1) it was the wrapper of a pack of hot dogs !!

    2) distribution was probably limited in area and length of promotion (baseball season)

recently at the national show in cleveland, i must have asked most every dealer about this item. the responses were, i wish, no, saw one
once etc........ no one at the nationa show, in ohio, had one !!

    hoped that helped.

That's a great shot of a very young Bench. I especially like the stadium in the background. Considering that it comes from a hot dog wrapper from 35 years ago, it's a miracle that any survived.
