Right can anyone point me in the right direction by recommending any good books on English Hammered gold coinage?

    Haven't read them but I bet they are pretty good as are most Sylloge books.

    Yeah i have Spinks and Coincraft and North.

    The others being of a more specialist slant sound more promising! Especially the first Woodhead one!
