**IGNORE THIS Toned Morgan, It's Probably AT Anyway**

stmanstman Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭✭
But in case you didn't, this lady has a nice cameo and very nice proof-like mirrors, that when given a quick tilt the coin changes colors and the mirrors light up the field colors. Enjoy!!!

Thanks for some of your comments folks. For those that are interested it's in a PCGS MS65 holder. While the image isn't mine (It is a scan) it's close enough as far as I'm concerned. This coin is NT all day and night and the nicest toned Morgan I've owned.

  • Amazing. I would have bet AT all the way. But as Dennis Miller says ".....of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

I guess I still have a lot to learn, since I've never seen one quite like that up close, if that's a good representation of the color (which I presume it is).image

Well, just because PCGS slabbed it doesn't necessarily mean that it hasn't been AT'd. The PCGS graders aren't all perfect, are they??? imageimage IMHO, it's rather gaudy/ugly/unnatural looking.

Thanks for the good words and also the "Other" image opinions. Gemtone65, this coin kinda reminds me of your MS66 toned DMPL Morgan. Your's is much nicer and DMPL to boot, but perhaps this might be a little sister. I think it's a different date as well.

  • The purple color was so bright and diffuse that when I first saw it I just assumed it was AT..... But, if it is truly NT, it is quite remarkable.image

Steve: you have some memory! I had to look up to see that my DMPL66 was indeed dated 1881-s. Also, from the style of your scan, maybe the two coin's are related, i.e., came from the same source.
  • stmanstman Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭✭
Gemtone, yes Your DMPL 66 and my coin pictured were once handled by Coingame 2000 (Mike DeFalco) if that's what you were referring to. I usually don't forget great coins. Although when I tried to buy this one off Mike Defalco it was gone but surfaced at the Long Beach show.

Oh, on the great memory you mentioned... My Wife always hated that, for other reasons of course.image

Doesn't look AT to me at all. Beautiful coin!
