Is it a 62 for sale or a 53? Looks like a picture of a raw coin?

  • It is a 1962-P half, yet the image in the auction is a 1953 half. So......which coin are you going to receive after you win this coin and pay for XpipedreamR??

  • "Images are obviously illustrative only and obviously not the coin offered!!"

    A raw 62-P Franklin MS66FBL (with a photo of a '53) worth $35,000 and you can
pick it up for a little more than half that? I can see why it's hard to restrain yourself.

Especially knowing that "Some of the Franklins are still in Old PCGS and NGC holders
and most are not, as many have been liberated of the undergraded MS65 and MS66 old
    holders."

I find it hard to believe it has full bell lines with the obverse that weakly struck. I think a grade of MS63 no bell lines is more in order. mike

  • Guaranteed Minimum MS66 FBL Quality and Grade

Nice! A grading guarantee to boot!
Not often you see a raw coin selling for $20k with a guarantee that it will grade MS66 FBL at the minimum. And then, once it is graded as such it will be worth $35k!!! The seller said so!!

    Jump on it Xpipe!
  • I can see why you are tempted. 4-6 month grading guarantee? Ask if he'll send it straight to PCGS for grading if you BIN it. Who is this? He says he is going to attend the St Louis show next month. I'd like to meet him if he has a table.

  • Do you think PCGS will get it graded and back to me in 4-6 months?

I can't believe that coin's worth 20 grand. I just picked up a 1962 Frankie in an NGC 67 holder with crisp full bell lines. ( of course mine's in Proof and an Ultra Cameo )...image

If it were actually a 1962 in MS66FBL and in a PCGS holder, it'd be worth more than that; assuming it wasn't a new make and was one the two that have been graded that high.

Oh, and our own MadMarty made one of those two - from a $7 coin show purchase.

  • We often totally revise or cancel auctions after 3-8 days if there is little email or bidding activity!

at least he admits it - does eBay actually allow you to do this and admit it?

If you choose to take advantage of our Grading guarantee this is extended 4-6 months.

They do offer a grading guarentee with a 4-6 month return privelage.

  • The seller must have been drunk when he posted the listings. His listings for 1948, 1954, and 1962 Franklins, as well as for a Department 56 Snowbabies book all have a photo of the 53 Frankie!!! image
