The result of the phoenix, due to its value, more than makes up for the rest. It was described as aunc-unc by the seller.

Yes I did. It was done through a local dealer, with surprisingly fast turnaround time. About 5 weeks door to door. (my door)


The BBed will be resubmitted. The others I don't know, perhaps with my free PCGS submission. PCGS always treated my Ionian coins with more respect.

Greece 1911 2 drs NGC MS61 , I expected a grade (or two) higher here. Nice BU , very hard to find. I'll try to post a scan or two later.

The only Ionian that came back as expected.




What NGC and Krause call 2L is in fact a half-obol. This coin comes to temporarily complete my Ionian islands 1819 set,half-obol, obol, 2 oboli, all copper coins, the other two (well known to forum members) in PCGS PR65RB holders.


edited to add: "temporarily", until a gem proof of this type is located, if ever.

Indeed, I bought it from Louie Teller at the ANA 2003 show in Baltimore. I believe three members saw it in hand when we first met. And of course it's a meiji 36, therefore 1903, not 1901.


I'm trying to get a decent scan of the sixpences, but the results are depressing. The 1903 and 1904 exhibit vivid colours on the reverse, mostly orange and a few blues.
