    Orig Mess under Barry Bonds

I purchased a Barry Bonds card the other day for 125.00. Its in a case and graded by a company called Gem grading Inc. The problem is that I have tried to verify the cert# through www.gemgrading.net and no response to my e-mails. There is no phone number listed. I know nothing about cards but I saw him hit #700 and I knew enough to buy the card.Help. Any advice the card is rated a 10 and it is U-14

I hate to say it, but you pretty much just threw away $125.
Gem Grading is widely known for grading altered/trimmed cards.
If you're new to cards, do some research first and ask questions.
If you're going to buy anything in graded form; stick with PSA, SGC, GAI, and BGS. Although there is no scan (didn't come up), I guarantee you that it is substantially less compared to the 4 other grading companies I just listed. That's because public perception on anything other than the 4 can't be trusted. The serial #s on Gem Grading cards mean nothing. I don't think they even have a database that keeps track of what they grade. It's there to fill in the space on the flip and make it look nice and dandy. If at all possible, you should ask for a refund on the card.
