!917 Winged Liberty-error

I was in a coins shop today...found a 1917 winged Liberty...I would say it was in VF condition except it was blank on the back...any error collectors tell me what this might be worth?

It could be worth in the hundreds if a legitimate error. More likely, it's just damaged and nearly worthless. Be careful.

  • Thanks Andy, It was in a a 2x2 flip so I could not see the rim...but I bet someone had filed it down for a love token...but ya never know...it was smooth as a planchet could be but I could not see what I needed to see to determine its physical state for sure.
  • I've heard of sanding down the reverse of like coins so that magicians could glue two together and make a "double heads" coin
