Any new info on TCCS?

I know TCCS met @ the ANA in Pittsburg and are planning a meeting @ FUN, but are there other plans for the group????

Anyone know if they are going to do a website/periodical with news articles ect.? Are they soliciting articles yet? What about pics of toned coins / AT coins?

Who should my membership application be sent to? Is there going to be regional TCCS Clubs?

Inquiring minds want to know?

Thanks
Michael

  • Mike,

I went over all of this with you in Long Beach....never let two lawyers get together at dinner.........Send the app to the address on it with your dues check. We will be setting up local clubs and the web site is in the works.

Major roll outs will be at the FUN show with test's of the web site this Dec 04.

    Bryan --

Is TCCS going to try to inform/teach the public about AT coins and the processes that various doctors use to "improve" some coins? If so, I have a bunch of AT coins that were donated/lent that I was going to use for my own CoinReports website as well as some extra cash people donated for that cause. I am wondering if TCCS might have some use for pics of the AT coins or the coins themselves. Of course I can now take the pics myself and send them off to you if you prefer. Also I can donate the rest of the money that was donated to me for CoinReports to assist in helping TCCS get started.

I would also perhaps like to right an article for the website about the toning experiments I have been trying.

I just don't know as to what extent TCCS is going to be an educational site/organization. I have been and remain dedicated to educating people about AT coins. I would like to see the coins/money utilized in that direction.

    Mike,

We are planning to have an educational area that will have a section dedicated to known AT methods, AT toning types, spotting AT, etc.

The TCCS is not going to be a AT police group.

Our primary focus will be sharing toned coins and the collectors experience between members via club meeting, show meeting, and an extensive interactive website. This is a work in progress so please feel free to email any suggestions or questions you have to me personally. (not going to post it here b/c of harvesters)

Coinhusker1- don't feel bad- I also thought they were discussing some fly-by-night snakeweasel "grading service" at first. image

    Michael,

You would like to "right" an article for the TCCS website? The correct word is WRITE -- something you should learn to do before offering your literary services to TCCS -- maybe you should stick to the practice of law. Couldn't help myself...just giving you a bad time. image

  • 1. We're working on a website - but getting a 1st class web-site takes time and effort, - we hope to have some preliminary stuff before the Baltimore show in early December.

    2. We're going to try and have a regional meeting in Baltimore - For those who attend the Baltimore show, would Friday 12/3 be a good day?

    3. The tone "posse" is another organization and the founders of the TCCS did not set up a toned posse vigilante organization - if someone wants to set up that group, well, its a free country ..... However, we are interested in collecting toned coins, education regarding the toning process, displaying, exhibiting and yep, showing them off. image Hopefully, our members will share their knowledge, learn from those who have been dealing and collecting toned coins, and use their acquired skills to be able to descern what looks real and what may be less than desirable; but in the end, we all get to buy what WE LIKE, which like all art, is in the eye of the beholder.

    4. Michael - The address to mail the Membership dues is clearly printed on the Membership application - it's in the lower "right"*portion of the application - there's even instructions indicating that the check is to be made payable to "TCCS". Michael - you'll need to "write" a check and send it "right" away to the right address if you want to become a member - oh BTW if you want to "write" an article you'll have to do it "right" away and I'd suggest that you run it thru spell check after you "write" it! image

*Actually it's in the lower left - but this seemed like the "right" thing to say image

My God, make one little error and the world jumps all over your back. So much for me trying to offer my services to help and give back to the community.

I would still like to join though. I was just trying to be helpful.
