Can you help?

I have a 1922 silver peace dollar. The coin is in excellent condition and does not bear an intitial identifying where it was minted. The head is upside down to the eagle. Can anybody tell me if this is rare, valuable or unusual. Thank you.

    Can you post a pic?
Then someone who knows more about it will be able to tell you more.

  • No mint mark would be Philadelphia. Not sure what you mean with the head deal... If you hold the coin head's up, and flip it in the head-to-toe direction, the reverse should appear right-side-up. If you flip the coin left-to-right, the reverse will appear upside down.

"The head is upside down to the eagle."

This is perfectly normal, get a pre-states quarter and look at Washington's portrait relative to the eagle on the reverse. If it was "medal" format, then it would be worth some big bucks.

Welcome! You have what we call a common date coin. Meaning it is not rare or particularly valuable. However, that doesn't mean it is not enjoyable or collectible. A good site to learn some more about coins is at Coin Facts.
