Here are a few that I got in the last month or so:
From Uraguay:

And Guatamala:

And from the 25 cent bin - a really nice 5 franc sower:

Had to make the sower smaller to fit the uploadimage

  • That is really excellent. I don't think I've ever seen the one with the panther on it before.
  • Nice peso. Don't see many that nice.

    Mark
  • Nice Ones, especially the one from Uraguay with the cat on it, Is it a mountain Lion?

I like the style of lettering on the reverse of the Guatemalan piece. (The side with the arms and the quetzal bird is the obverse).

  • Really like the cat coin. Been looking for one for sometime. They always seem to be in rough shape. Very nice score.
  • That Uraguay coin is awesome, as are all the others. Congrats! image

The one peso coin is tougher than one might think. Survival was good for it and it is common in poundage
but choice specimens are very tough. Most are VG or F and even attractive VF's can be elusive. It's only been
recently that this coin has gotten much attention so few dealers will have them carded up in any grade.

Uncs are scarce and most of the uncs show a little handling.

  • Thanks for the replies - The cat is a panther I believe and the coin is marked as AU or UNC - I think it is UNC.

  • According to my Schon catalog it is a puma (pumaconcolor-Felidae), basically the same as a cougar, panther or mountain lion .
