Are you asking the date set?
yes a complete date set

I too would've guessed maybe the Smithsonian, but if TDN says they are missing some from each denomination, then it would have to be nobody.
And what about unique stuff like the 1849 double eagle?
Any more missing for sure?
Edited to add: I'm not certain of the question.... just a date set or date and mintmark and variety set like Eliasberg? But for sure the Smithsonian does not have a complete date set of all denominations - it's missing the 1885 trade dollar.
DIMES - Draped bust, capped Bust, seated,Barber,Mercury, and Roosevelt dimes COMPLETE all dates and mint marks.with or without the 94 s Barber
Large cents, flying eagle cents, indian cents and Lincoln cents complete with all mint marks.varieties are optional
This is a very dooable set.Sure it is alot more difficult in mint state. This is a great way to collect coins.
I think when I hit a net worth of ohhh...say five million I will put together a nice matched half dollar set in grades VF/XF all the way up to the walking Liberty halves and then going for either AU or Unc. for the later dates.

I started off collecting lincolns from change in the 50's, and then found a few indians. Worked on the indians in the 60's and 70's, then got into large cents when I could afford them later in life.
<< <i>I'd guess they probably do have some denominations complete, but there are significant coins missing in some. For instance, they don't have half dimes, dimes, halves, dollars or $3 gold complete - that I'm sure of!

Yes, a 1933 Double Eagle.
I also have an almost (need 1801, 1802, 1804 and still looking) complete set of dimes from 1796 to 1964 (no clads).
I remember hearing a story of a family that worked together on obtaining an example of every single coin minted by the U.S. and actually
did it. The condition didn't matter, the goal was one of every coin. I don't know any details other than that.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

The Smithsonian has two of them.
<< <i>I would think that a Half dollar set would be pretty neat. It seems to be a feat only limited by funds and not any excess rarities. Harry Labstain has both a 1796 and 1797 Half dollar on his site. Both coins would cost about $200,000. The only other extreme rarity would be the 1878-S Seated half and that coin would show up within a couple of years (Am I missing any others?) The 1838-o wouldn't be easy.
James Bennett Pryor had a nearly complete set of US half dollars. Others have done other denominations. It can be done.
Excellent question and idea.
