1930/1 wheat cent ???

I was and still am assembling a lot of wheat cents for a fellow collector, and while sorting out the coins, to make sure not to put any 50's in there, I came across an odd looking 1930 wheatie the 0 looked like a D, so I grabbed my 10 X loop and started to investigate... The coin appears to be a 1930/1 On the left of the 0, it is flat, and you can see an indention in the bottom of where what appears to be the 1, I have taken my 31 S and studied them both closely, on where the 1 is located, and on the 30/1 ?? they both match up perfectly....Anyone ever hear of such an error? I've been searching and searching for something along the lines of it, but, nothing has come up. And if the guy i'm sending the wheaties to, ends up with a thousand dollar coin, I want in on it buddy . Or could this possibly be the result of someone fixing a die chip that is known on the 1930 ???

My guess is that the zero just got caught or dinged at some point in it's life. Of course it would help if you posted a photo.
I've examined more circ cents than I would care to admit and I have seen digits that have been whacked.....

BTW, I wrote out the check today for that batch o' Wheaties I'm buyin' from you. You wouldn't by any chance be talkin' about MY lot, would you?

Not to worry. If we're discussin' my lot, and if by some bizzare chance I end up with a thousand-dollar coin, I assure you the windfall wealth will be spread around and shared liberally.

LM, what surprises me is that there haven't been any cases of an overdate with a digit over the FOLLOWING number. In the twentieth century all of the overdates have been the result of doubled dies where the second hubbing was done by the later dated hub. But since dies were being made for both years at the same time it should be equally possible for a die for the coming year to come back from annealing and be hubbed the second time with a hub for the earlier year.
