  • It looks OK to me.
I think he cancelled the previous one because he made an error in what he wanted to price it to start.
I don't see anything wrong with this auction as it appears on my computer screen.

  • He had bids up to $200 on the first auction. Looks like he pulled the auction and relisted at a higher start.

  • He cancled 2 hours and 20 min before the auction was to close he had 12 bids on the item when he cancled but guess he wanted more so he lied and said it was no longer availble just my 2cents worth

  • I agree. It's wrong but what can you do? Ebay won't enforce their own rules.

Show me where the guy broke any rules. He was stupid enough to list it too low, decided it wasn't going to sell for enough, so he pulled it and relisted it. He spent double the fees to do one job, and nobody else spent anything.

    Right from the ebay rules:

Note: Sellers are not permitted to cancel bids and end listings early in order to avoid selling an item that did not meet the desired sale price. This is considered to be reserve fee circumvention. Although there are legitimate reasons for ending a listing early, abuse of this option will be investigated.

Reasons for ending listings early include:
The item is no longer available for sale.
There was an error in the starting price or reserve amount.
There was an error in the listing.
The item was lost or broken.

Here's one that's been doing it regularly lately.

Start at a penny with no reserve and when it doesn't get bid to what he wants, cancel in the waning moments. These types of sellers are gutless weasels.

That leaves a lot open to interpretation. At any rate, the point is that nobody paid anything other than the seller, why not just get over it and move on?

  • Im pointing out that he LIED did not tell the truth or does that mean anything to you it does to myself and alot of the dealers here on the boards. What eles is he willing to lie about and all he is out is his listing fees I think there should be a $5-10.00 fee it you end a auction after 24 hours of listing or mayby within 24 hours of its close that would stop alot of it

  • Possibly he has no choice but to lie. Maybe it only allows those four choices when you cancel an auction. (I don't know because I've never canceled one.) Kind of like how when you retract a bid they only give you a few posible choices to chose for the reason.
