Some may not know, but the Babe's father owned a bar.....were it still there today, it would be located in center field at Camden Yards. This is true.

Also little known fact.....in 1922 Smellthis's grandfather walked into the bar with a monkey on his head........................

  • I know babe was an orphan, but I don't know the story. does anyone here know it? Was he abandoned, did his parents die, dies they get divored, or the father keft and the mother put him in the orphanage? It would be interesting to find out. Did he have any sons?

He wasn't really a sultan. Ah, what’d you make of that? Hey, check this out. (he stands to reveal he's wearing baseball pants) Lou Gehrig's pants. Not a bad fit. (a thought occurs) Hey, you don't think that nerve disease of his was contagious, do you? Uh, I better take 'em off. I'm too important to this team. (removes the pants to reveal his boxers) Big Stein can't be flopping and twitching. >>

The babes parent's neither died nor left him. they simply could not control him and off to the trade school he went. He would on some weekends return home for visits. They wanted him to become a tailor.
    Good for you.
  • Babe is here with me. He told me to tell you not to make fun of his name or anything else. He is The Sultan.

Babe knows all about curses, and how to make them last for YEARS. image

That's definitely a different era in this country. Well he did become a tailor, a tailor that makes homeruns. Do you know if he had any sons and if they got involved in any sports?
