Won bulk lot of coins from estate sale

I won about a pound of coins from germany on ebay for ... $6.50 i think, not including shipping and insurances which made it $13 something. I haven't gotten it yet. They said they didn't look through it much. I'm guessing that's probably just a tactic to get people to buy their stuff? Has anyone ever actually gotten anything really good from a bulk lot?

If you bought a pound lot from one of the Bundesbank bags, you have a better-than-average chance of finding something that's worth more than what you paid. The Bundesbank was designated as the collection point for all coins being withdrawn from circulation after the euro came into use.
  • Awesome! it's a bundesbank bag, supposedly! I think he's for rel because he hasn't had one neg or neutral feedback in the past year.

Tell how it works out. It sounds like fun.
  • It's the first time I've bought a lot of coins on ebay.

You win some, you lose some on ebay but i have never had anything go seriously wrong with my ebay dealings. I think you'll have fun.
  • Hey the last time i bought a bulk lot it was a bunch of US loose change purchased at face value. (or maybe $2 over face at most).

There must have been about $35 of coins in there, I asked the guy before i bought it if any were dated prior to 1965 and he said there were a few late fifties and early sixties pieces in there plus some earlier stuff, so i put the bid on won it.

When it arrived and i sorted through it i hauled out about 30 silver coins including Washers, Mercs, Roosies, dateless SLQ, Silver War Nickels and a few half Kennedys.

Also pulled out a cleaned/whizzed Buff nickel.

All in all it wasn't a bad day that day, i wish you similar luck.
