My dad has a bunch of Morgans

I was talkin to my dad the other day about our assignment back to the states. He told me "dont buy any more silver dollars". I asked why and he paused then explained that he has a couple of hundred of them. My grandfather passed recently and passed them on to dad. I knew of about 30 coins that I had previously seen but wasnt allowed to examine. Dad fessed up that he has that "couple hundred" and has no idea about them and he wants me to bring my Morgan/Peace encyclopedia home when we come back to the states and go thru them with him. We talked a bit about errors and varieties and I explained the basic grading scale to him. I dont know alot, but what little I do know we discussed briefly enough to get him excited about the coins.
Obviously, I'm excited about this too. I'm looking forward to getting home and taking a good long look at the collection to see what he has. I dont know what his intentions are. Whether he's going to give them or some to me now or keep them and pass them to me later or distribute them to me and my brothers/sister. He said we'll talk about that when we're stateside.
No matter what happens, it's going to be fun to go through "a couple hundred" Morgans.
Oh, they're all raw.

After you've seen them, I want a full report over a cheesesteak! I'm only an hour away!

I hope so too. That was my first question. He didnt say yes or no, just "I dont know what I have" which I find hard to believe. Dad has never been one to say "I dont know". So, I'm wondering if he does, and he just didnt want to get me all excited.
A bunch of 1889 and 1921's claw? Well, I will put together an inventory of them, which I'll be sure to post.
As far as pix go, I'm sure we'll have a digicam. Access to computer and uploading in a timely manner is another story. They'll get here eventually, but I have no idea how long it'll take since we'll be "homeless" for a while while being between bases.
I hope to find some good ones and I'll post pix of the good ones and/or the ones I have questions about.
<< <i>Bet there are a lotta 1921 and 1889 Morgans. >>
What makes you believe that? Common? Maybe some 1881S

Because my parents had a bunch of Morgans and there were many 1889 and 1921s.
<< <i>Might be fun to start a poll to see what we believe will be in the group. For example a 93-S, majority will be 21's, or '80's, or .... >>
Good idea, but do you have any idea it'll take to list all the morgans in a poll?
hmmm....you're right....and my eyes are already goin, I just refuse to admit I need glasses yet
I will not have my FUN With 1921 VAM book and Morgan/Peace Encyclopedia put in to shipment when we leave here. I'll carry them with me to take to dads house in October
