Well a recent issue of Coin World identifies a $50 Kellog Territorial Round gold piece that will be auctioned on EBay with a starting bid (if I recall correctly) of 2 million. Maybe this is what prompted your question in the first place?

That coin's already listed (Link). But listing a coin for a lot of money is a lot different from selling it.

I don't know the answer. I'm guessing it would be in the tens of thousands -- I would think one that made it to the hundreds of thousands would have been talked about quite a bit.
