I just got 2 negs - don't mess with eBay scammers

I used the "contact member" function to hassel an ebay scammer, but I had two items (non-coin) listed for sale.

The scammer used two alt-Id's and bid on them and left me negs.

- This man doesn't care about his feedback anymore. I got ripped off. DO NOT BID!
- FRAUD! Sent him payment, expected item overnight, but item never received. F-

Now I have to wait a week before I can file a non-paying bidder dispute and wait another 7 days to get my fees back.

I currently have 5 negs, and I wish I could keep them up top and wear them like a badge of honor, since they are all from scammers and rip-off artists.

Feedback Score: 880
Positive Feedback: 99.4%

Members who left a positive: 884
Members who left a negative: 5

All positive feedback received: 1369

I've got 3 more negs coming - I'm in the process of exhanging negatives with a guy who ripped me off for $50 for 4 items, but I'm spacing my negs to him out a little so he'll have some show in the current month.

eBay - you gotta love it image

File a report with eBay to have those two negatives removed under the campaign to harass section of their feedback removal policy.

I got a kick out of your exchange with the other guy:

Gold digging buyer returned fairly represented item - $10 rtn fee enrages him!

Reply by xxxxx: All my negs are from RIP-OFF SELLERS. Go get a job and earn an honest living.

Follow-up by xxx: "Ripoff seller" w/3219 pos feedbacks/very pleased customers! Case rested.

Yes, who is this guy, and what was he scamming on ebay?? image
My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable !

  • The scammer is rome401. The auction I was hasseling him about was 3930059746, which eBay pulled.

His feedback is here for this Previous Auction

I sent eBay this on Sunday

Member or Item being reported: 3930059746 $US US !00000! 042104

Message: Fraudulent seller running a scam with user ID Rome401 used some
alternate ID's <a1> and <a2> to buy items xx53 and xx33 from me with no intent of paying.

I know eBay doesn't care about scammers and I beleive you should let his auction complete because he wasn't able to get any money on the first one.

But I was wondering if you could void the revenge auctions xx53 and xx33?

I'm sure he is a regular scammer known to eBay and has a multitude of alternate ID's set-up

    Today I got their response

  • Looks like you got two undeserved negs that you are now stuck with. I wouldn't hassle a scammer, I'd just report them and let ebay handle it.

  • God damn I am so sick of the scammers.

Question for long-time forum members -- is this the worst you've seen it concerning rampant fraud reports?

Try getting phone contact info for the two IDs that negged you and calling. If they can't be reached or have bogus info, which they will, report that to "safe"harbor and have the investigation reopened. At the very least those IDs should be NARU'd due to inaccurate contact info. They may find that is enough to remove the feedback as well.
  • Sequitur,
That kind of language is not really needed on the threads here. image

I hate scammers as much as everyone, but please tone down the language, we need not take the Lord's name in vain.

  • Well, this does show that the use of alternate ebay ID's is really important if you are going to mess with
    scammers.
Don't use your good ID unless you want to be hassled in turn.
Some of these guys are psychos just waiting for a trigger event to go off.

Second, Ebay doesn't really care, unless the FED's are involved in something.
Then they take a passing interest.

Third, learn how to spot them and avoid them. You can't do anything to save the morons in this world.
Most of the morons would hate you for it anyway.
It is a moron's given right to be able to be ripped off by someone, why deny the morons of their pain and/or pleasure.
It is a moron's choice not yours.

Can you post the scammers' IDs? Sounds like good blocking material...
