Cameo/Deep Cameo vs. A Beautifully Toned proof

I personally would rather own a gorgeously toned proof with its original skin.
My take on many cameo and deep cameo proofs are that they have been dipped. They will eventually retone but their original (stable) skin has been lost.
Which do you prefer ?

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Every year I go to shows I see more and more dipped out lifeless slugs than the year before, this especially applies to Morgan dollars and 19th century proof type coins. I also see quite a few Trade and Seated dollars in PCGS and NGC holders that have that awful greyish dipped out look to them. I can actually envision a day where an original undipped, unmessed with coin willl actually be a rarity in itself.
Stewart - when it comes to proof copper nothing compares to the depth of color that appears on the tissue-toned mirrored monsters, they blow the pure red cameos away in the first 5 seconds.
