I'm thinking of beginning to collect the 1933-34 Canadian Gum (V252) set. It's not as attractive or colorful as the O-Pee-Chees, but there's something about the set that has caught my fancy.
What can the people here tell me about this set? How difficult is it to collect and complete (I'm OK with lesser-condition cards, even poor, as long as there isn't significant paper loss)? Are there any dealers out there with a good supply? If I make it up to the Toronto show in November, am I likely to find a good number available?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm generally a baseball card collector and I don't want to dive into the deep waters of vintage hockey unaware.
