short sets

Winged Liberty Head dime short sets 41-45. Worth the effort? Are FSB's worth the extra cost for these common date sets?

Short sets are for wusses. But hey, that's just my opinion. You must do what you feel is right, of course.

I like the idea. There are a lot of collectors out there (like me) that just don't have the resources available for an entire set. I hope to complete my MS Washington basic set before I'm an old man, but the way prices are climbing, it will be a long time. I would like to see a short set in the Washington series. JMO

  • I collect FSB Mercs, and personally, yes, they are very much worth the extra cost, you can usually see an overall better detail strick on the entire coin I believe, not just the Split bands. All in all, Oh yeah, very much worth it.... From the way I understand, only a couple thousand or less are made with a FSB in a certain date and mintmark.... I am not for sure on that, all I know is that FSB mercs are A+
