1977 Topps #234 Nolan Ryan RB PSA 9 WANTED!!!

...I've put off buying this card...until now. It is probably the ugliest card in the entire set, but it is the last one I need. I won't pay up on eBay as the scans are typically small and blurry. If any of our true collectors have a decent copy of this card and wish to part ways with it, I would have sincere interest at this point and make it worth your while. I just ask for a legible scan and good email skills. Thanks for your help.

  • Phil,

I had two of these at one point, but they are both long gone. Sorry I can't help.

Is this really the last 9 you need to complete your set?

    Congrats on a great set.

I was just flipping through my mostly raw set the other day and thinking about what a great set it is. Absolutely one of the best that Topps ever produced. Classic photography, blazing colors, and filled with some of the great players to ever play the game - just amazing to look at.

    Hope all is well.

  • Phil -

I have one, but it does have a slight diamond cut that I didnt notice until I was holding it in my hands. Let me try to pull up a scan. If it doesn't work, it's listed under my NRMS (Dabney's)

    Phil,
Congrats on the near-completion. I've followed your set for the past year or so; I know the standards you hold for this set are extremely high and there's no doubt that this is one absolutely top-flight set.

After you get that last card maybe you would share some of the particulars of building this set. I can't help but think others would be interested too in what you've encountered during the journey.

Again congrats on a job well done!

  • Bill,
I will absolutely share. It will take a little time to gather my thoughts and the best way to present them. Thanks for checking in...how's that 84 set coming along???

  • Hi,
I definitely have one of these and my recollection is that its a pretty nice one. I'll check tonight and e-mail you a scan.

There will be a rather large 'splash' occuring in October on the registry. Not sure as yet how it will stack up to the front-runners but it'll be part of the drink.......

    Thanks, Bill

i am anxious to get the write up on this set. i am sure it will be an enjoyment to all. congrats on a job well done and i hope that you get a ryan rb(although i wouldn't consider that card the ugliest in the set). i would have to put some of them airbrushed mariner or blue jay cards in there before the ryan?i will say some of my favorites of all time are in the 76 to 78 sets probably because those were the years i collected as a child and now as an adult?keep them pictures coming and hopefully we will have scans of all 660 cards soon!
