1899o die crack

Can anyone tell me is a die crack above and through united states of america and one dollar pretty much all the way around the reverse common for the 1899o . Any info you could tell me about this would be helpfull.

  • the crack is hard to see in the scan when I get bigger you can't see it at all. It is easy to see in hand it runs all around the lettering.

    Larry, I also have a 99-o with a continous die crack completely around the reverse edge lettering. Ithink it looksimage Have no idea how common it may or may not be.

    Die cracks around the reverse lettering are common in the Morgan series, and particularly among O-mints where dies tended to be used a long time. Unless the cracks are extremely severe (which few are), they have no value premium. But they are neat to look at!
    When in doubt, don't.
