coin photography: brown copper coming out olive green...

or thereabouts. I know I probably have to change this with a manual white balance, but if I'm in Irfanview enhanced color mode how do I get to a true dark brown with the following settings?:
- Blue +
- Green +
- Red +

You don't have to do anything to the camera. Here's how to get accurate copper shots:

Place the raw coin on a dark blue background, such as a Whitman album.
Open the window - the light let in will be sufficient. No artificial light is necessary.
Shoot head on with macro on and flash off.

The resulting picture should show good details and the coin's true color.

Plenty of light and a good white balance should be adequate to get accurate color. just don't overexpose it. Color shift may relate to it being too long of exposure trying to compensate for the darkness.

better yet, wipe the pvc residue off the coin before you take a picture of it.
