I just love these coins.

Picked it up last night at the local coin club. Don't know much about these just yet, except that I like them alot. She's on the rough side but they are really cool. Any masters out there tell me if it has been cleaned? If so, using my image, what is the dead giveaways on these type coins?

Thanks,
PURPLE!

  • Looks untouched to me. I used to collect bodybagged coins, so spotting cleaning scars from ebay photos has become something of a sub-hobby for me. The only seated pieces I have for reference are quarters, but the heavy buildup of black on your coin looks old. If it had been cleaned at some point, I don't think it would be that dark.

  • Baby Silver Good... image Just need to go a little bit earlier to be Really Good image Doesn't look cleaned, but environment damage, perhaps caused the roughness... color is... splotchy... but alright... IMO, not a very attractive coin at all...

    it's a keeper.

1 of my mostest favorite coins is the 1853-O no-arrows half-dime.
