The pics aren't that great, but, I can get a general idea of what you are talkin about as far as the error. This is the cause of the coin being reprocessed. Zinc coat is stripped, and then replaced, look on the cheek of lincoln for worn down spots. Many if not all reprocessed steel pennies have the effect of what looks like to be a DDO.

Um, no unfortunately that's just me trying to learn how to use my camera still. Look to the east of the "4" and southeast of the MM

Sorryto say, but it's common die wear. Regarding whether it's reprocessed - hard to tell from the lighting used.

I would have thought that if it was a machining error, it would be on all devices. The pic above was taken with an egg cup inverted with the base cut and a light on the outsite to try and get rid of the shadows. There is definately an impression to the east of the 4 but also to the south of the MM.

Looks like machine doubling. You see it alot on today's copper coated zinc too.
