Tell me about the Nashua, NH 3rd Sunday Coin Show?

I'm wondering if anybody here frequents this one. What can you tell me about it? How many dealers? How busy usually? Do you go? What are some areas it is strong in? If I go, I'll be looking for a nice better circ type date Barber quarter and/or half (one like that sweet 58 somebody posted a week or two ago would be ideal, but eye-appealing XF's are targeted too). I'll keep my eyes peeled for pretty XF'ish reduced size bust quarters too, but those seem like mostly a theoretical coin as I don't seem to ever see them around. Any recommended dealers?

I was thinking of making the trip this Sunday, 9/19, but I live hours off so I'm not sure yet. Your replies may help me decide. Also, if any forumites are going, I'd love to meet -- that is if you aren't embarrassed to be seen with me in the wake of recent forum soap operas. Anyway, thanks in advance for any replies.

  • I have been to this show twice. The first time was a couple years ago, seemed to be alot of the same dealers as the Westford show. The last time I went to the show, about 6 months ago, there were no coin dealers there only stamp dealers. I looked around to see if the coin dealers were in another room but couldn't find any. I left frustrated and haven't been back since.

I think there is a big show coming up at the end of September, beginning of Oct in Manchester NH. That one looks like it may have some promise.

Not a bad local show. There are anywhere from 75-85 dealers present with a wide range of material. Paper, 19th century, 20th century. A pretty good selection all in all.
