An idea for new coin show dealers...

A big part of building a coin business at coin shows is developing relationships with serious collectors and other dealers. If you can find a way to attract them to your table, browse and chat, you're well on your way. A near zero capital way to draw a crowd is to bring a pile of old auction catalogs and sell them for $2 apiece. So many people, including the big name collectors and dealers, will stop by to rummage and buy. Works every time.

So where do you find enough catalogs to do this at every show? Certainly local collectors and dealers are a source. Also, you might find a regular supply from Forum members. Most of us have piles of unwanted auction catalogs. We just can't bring ourselves to trash them. But if somebody was willing to take them on consignment, maybe at $1 each, we might be willing to ship them off. A dealer could sell thousands of catalogs a year like this. It would be a ton of work (literally), but the benefits could be huge for a beginning dealer.

Anyone want to try this?
