Very Nice! I love brown coins with luster. They have a richness about them and cost less, which is ok by me. Only problem is that it can be hard to find the nice ones. Good job LincolnCentMan.
I notice several of them have some blue, is this accurate or did the camera tint them.
Mike,
The picks are pretty accurate. Here's a few examples of some that have probably slipped by the graders. There's a nother thread mentioning how some of the blue cents have probably been treated. IMHO, the ones above are completely origional and never messed with. These, however, are suspect.
Nice coins David and great pics also. Funny how that 67 BN also has that "look" to it- not that it has been played with per say, but it also doesn't look like you first batch of nice BN examples.
The "look" on the 67BN is a little diffent than the "look" on the 13-P and 29-D. The ones that are questionable have a strong glossy blue tint to them. This one has the regular post RB toning to it. It is IMHO a no question origional coin. I has nice eye appeal, but it's not one I'd have graded 67.
That's why it's really difficult to detect. I'm pretty sure the 13-P has been messed with, the 29-D could go either way. There are chemicals that have been used on copper coins that strongly imitates the luster that you're talking about.
I have a KILLER target toned morgan that was setting in a whitman album for years. It got net graded for AT. Sometimes, even the natural ones get bagged. It's got to have just the right look on coppers for them to holder them.
