I dug out some old raw coins I had put away years ago. Not accustomed to photographying raw coins, I was amazed at the difference without the plastic especially with proofs and PLs.
PCGS body bagged this 78s PL because of questionable toning. I acquired it many years ago when toning was tarnish and hasn't changed at all in my possession. If AT than purely accidental.

If it wasn't a PL I'd say dip it and send it back, but I don't know if that would wreck the mirrors. Try sending it to NGC instead.

Great point Islemangu. It's amazing how much the plastic devalues the look of a photograph, and to a lesser extent the coin in general.
