It depends on the eye appeal of the coin, contrast, and depth of mirror. A good ballpark is probably $1800 - $2400.

Are you buying or selling, or just want to know?

depending on the quality of the coin, this one can fetch in excess of 3k rather easily......

or it can spiral downward, the 1950 Frankie is often a heavly hairlined coin, also spotting and various other surface problems, to find a nice example in this grade would be a super find....

In my experience with the 1950 proof, they tend to be generously graded by both services....

so as mentioned above, it all depends on the quality of the example that is found.....

    Is RI initials for rape-it?

  • Not exactly. Rick Tomaska is the king of '50's era Cameo coinage. He literally wrote the book on the subject. However, that price is pretty excessive. Darn nice coin though.

  • Finding nice 1950 proof sets to pop the coins out of for grading is tough. I'm trying to find the 1950 dime for my proof registry, and all the opened sets I have seen have had yucky looking yellowed coins in them. I don't know if I'm ready to play the unopened set lottery yet. I'm also trying to pick up one in an off brand holder for crossing, but even that's harder than I thought. I'll keep an eye out for sets with nice Frankies in them, if you decide you want one. If you outbid me, though, I got dibs on the dimes. image
