Any one know of such a beast? If so, what is it's value? Not my image or I'd have a better close-up.

I haven't seen one of those in YEARS....that's RPM#5, as listed by CONECA. S/S East. It's value is in the neighborhood of $25-$200 depending on grade from PR64 through PR68.

If your acquaintance wants to get happier, they could make it the plate coin for a book and have it certified by ANACS as such. Contact me if interested.

Actually the process of having it slabbed as a plate coin for a book would come after I photograph it for the page in the book. I would send the page of the book and the coin to Michael Fahey and he would cache the coin upon request from me.

They will, of course cache the coin as CONECA RPM#5 now, but it wouldn't be designated as a "plate coin".
