What is your standard eBay feedback message?

I recently re-installed Windows which let me start with a clean slate as far as default feedback is concerned

For selling, I use this because it lets me communicate with the buyer that I received payment and the coin will be shipped

Thank you for your purchase. Your coin will be shipped on the next business day.

For buying,

Nice coin and fast shipment

For generic buying or selling

It was a pleasure doing business with you. Thank You. AAA+++

The kids today, they like the AAA+++ because they think it's like a credit rating.

What is a good universal feedback that can be used in any situation?

Sometimes phrases like "fast payment" or "nice coin" don't always fit

There's one forum member who uses something like "His Kung Fu is strong." image

Me, I vary it. But, if I'm doing a bunch at once like I did today, I usually just use whatever I put in the first one.

  • Try to make sure your "standard" fits the situation. A seller left me feedback recently of "as advertised".

What are the things a buyer wants to know, A) did i get what I paid for, B) was it shipped fast

A seller wants to know it was paid for quickly and there were no hassles

so those are the kind of things I leave. "Nice coin, Fast shipment Thanks!!!" or "Quick Pay, Great Buyer Thanks!!!"

I don't have a default. But I convey what I think are the most important things.

Feedback for a buyer: Did they pay quickly?

Feedback for a seller: Was the item at least as described or better? Was it shipped promptly and securely?

I don't usually use the "AAAA++++++" kind of stuff. I prefer to use my 80 characters for the things I think matter most, which are what I posted above.

Buyer: "As described and shipped promptly."

Seller: "Prompt payment, thank you for your purchase."

Some have similar format, but varies depending on person, coin, transaction method, etc?

I always write what I felt about the deal. In other words, I don't copy and paste feedback.

I try to leave feedback that's relevant whenever possible and I always put the word Thanks at the end of the message (unless the transaction sucked!) I think the feedback system is pretty useless anyway.
  • Some of my general ones, depending on if I am buying/selling are:

    Smooth transaction
    A plus to eBay
    Very prompt pay
    Great eBayer
    Quick shipping
    Great communication
    Thanks

If there is a pertinent incident - then I will mention that, as well.
  • I have a pretty much set of dealers I buy from. I try to leave a feedback that will
reflect the seller is honest, prompt, trustworthy. Here's my standard:

"Item received, thanks. Prompt shipping/great packing. Recommended A+++++"

I vary it with each purchase.'

I find that the following works for anything as long as everything went well.

"Received item quickly and in good condition. A+"

I vary it as neccessary or create something entirely different if I need to.

I try to vary mine. Although I usually say something along the lines of: shipped fast, well packaged, thanks! If I liked them, that is. image
  • When I leave feedback, I try to make it a direct reflection of how the transaction went.

Might be anything from, "Item Better Than Expected+Trustworthy+Highly Recommended", to "received purchase".

  • Unless something unusually good or bad occurs, my standard feedback goes something like

"Fast shipper. Item arrived as described. Would bid again."

If I think the seller did a really exceptional job at packaging, I make a note of that as well.

Mine usually go something like this.... Received POS as usual and expected. And appreciated paying all the inflated shipping fees. Thanks again!!!

Standard feedback is boring. Does anyone remember the cover story about eBay about two years ago? I think they highlighted the text "where else can you get glowing praise for an act as mundane as dropping a money order in a mailbox?" (or close to those words).

A+ (or A++++) is so overused in eBay feedback that today's lesser grading services' gade inflation pales in comparison.

I try to make my feedback messages meaningful. For ewxample, when I sold a SCSI controller to a frazzled mom/pastor with the ID "fuzzyrev", I posted "Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't Scuzzy, was she?". On the one occasion I sold something to my wife/shill bidder (a rare antique hard drive) I wrote "Fats Waller wrote a song called This Is So Nice It Must be Illegal". An invocation of Fats Waller also comes in handy when buying a cheap cleaned coin not worth returning to a PowerSeller, too, since his song "You're Slightly Less Than Wonderful" cloaked as a positive feedback will scroll off the first page of the PowerSeller's feedback before most people notice it.

When I'm not inspired and have to leave lots of feedbacks to buyers, I use a variation of "Prompt payment and good communications from a bidder I hope to see again". My cliche' for average coin sellers is "coin received promptly and exactly as advertised", which I use only when I'm leaving feedback for several average sellers at once.

When someone pays by paypal as soon as an auction is over, I try to show my appreciation and make them smile with this..
Super fast high speed turbo rocket payment.
This may sound juvenile, but the hope is it will stick with them, and maybe they will continue to pay others with the speed they used when paying me.
