Funny thing happened to me at the show yesterday

BearBear Posts: 18,953 ✭✭✭
Went to Larry Shepherds table to sell some coins and raise some cash. I sold

the coins alright, but he had such nice stuff, that I put the sale money right back

plus another 700 hundred dollard. Larry always says, his job is not finished as

long as the client has any money left.image

Bear, I have been down that road as well. Larry's table stops me dead in my tracks when he is at a show. He always has some wickedly nice coins, especially his "color coins". Talk about sensory overload!

What did I get. An 1899-O Morgan Dollar in PCGS MS-67 condition. The coin is a shot 68

with the most flawless, puffy face, I have ever see, It is from the" Larry Shapiro Collection"

and it has a creamy origonal skin that is amazing. The second coin was a a 1978 Ike Dollar

PCGS PR-68 DCAM. This coin is the most amazing toned Ike PR I have ever seen. In addition to a deep flawless

field, the coin's devices are a light golden umber , with a halo of slight darker gold umber. Then there is a ring of a darker

more bluish tone that tends to lighten a bit towards dark brown around the edges. All of the devices look as though a light bulb is shinning

behind them. It is a coin that is difficult to put down once you have seen it. The third and last coin is a 1893 Barber quarter

PCGS PR 67Cameo that is a shot 68 Cameo plus. The coin is untoned with creamy white devices and deep water fields. All in all,

a nice collection of beautiful coins to look upon, in my dotage.

Like you, Tom and others, have been there many times. It's simply the price of being a true collector!imageimage

Larry is a good guy. He always offers strong money on buyback for any coin he has sold.

While his prices are never cheap, the quality of his coins is extraordinary.Even his

Peace Dollars are the finest quality for the grade I have ever seen. I wonder if Larry

will give me some jelly donuts for saying nice things about him?

I was lucky enough to be @ TBT's table when Bear stopped by with this coin. It was stunning. It was the nicest toned Ike I have ever seen.

Bear -- you need to post a couple of pics of that coin.
