For me they would be considered as world coins due to the date...liteside after it became a state...
  • Can't help you with that question but let me be the first to welcome you to the forum! image
  • I would say equally both-- they are listed in the US Red Book.

Also Darkside because when they were issued Hawaii was a real country (unlike the current prolific NCLT producing Marshall Islands).

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5

"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22
  • In a word, "Yes." image However, I see them as Dark Side rather than Liteside for the reasons Cacheman & Satootoko gave. After they became US territory, their coinage was Liteside and not their own.

    Welcome!

    I consider them dark gray.

  • I guess my Pre-WWI Philippines Pesos would be considered U.S. coins, then.

  • Frankly, if it isn't a standard US coin, only a few Litesiders would recognize it as one of "theirs."

True, but we on the darkside aren't bound by their parochial views.imageimageimage

  • We take in all that isn't US coins ... all that is unwanted by them in their narrow pursuit of numbered plastic with US coins in them! image
