What is your shipping policy for multiple wins?
Sounds like $5 + $1.30 per item!image No mention of a discount & $6.30 per item adds up FAST.

  • Ajia Your right on the shipping adding up. I do combine items, 1-2 bucks more, usually, depending what it is. Insurance is at usps rates. I didn't advertise this tho. I try to make up for some of the percentages on shipping. It doesn't always work tho.
  • >>I try to make up for some of the percentages on shipping

You're one of THOSE eBay sellers...
  • What d'ya mean "one of THOSE sellers?" LOL Can't blame a guy for trying!!! I didn't make a dime on Friday's auctions.
5 proof sets of statehoods to 2 buyers. So much for making up for lost %'s......

    rb7557,

"Those" eBay sellers, in this case are ones that sell items starting at 1C without a reserve, then have sellers remorse because it did not sell at the amount wanted. So they stick it to the buyer by the high shipping charges.

This does not seem to be the case with you as your starting price seems to be the least you are comfortable selling at, so I don't see why you can't spell out a shipping policy.

I for one thought about bidding on a few coins, but stopped because of the unknown shipping charges....you only need to be burned once or twiceimage before going straight to the shipping charges on an auction before bidding.

  • Ajia You have a good point. I should have stated this when I listed these. Somebody did ask about it, and I responded and put it out for others to see. I think there was a buck and change overage on the shipping to each buyer on the proof sets. I didn't jam these guys, but I have seen others that do it regularly and will do it again. To be honest with you I didn't sell these to make a bunch of money, rather, I got my butt in a sling with a huge ticket while taking my son to the hospital with a dislocated elbow. The details are not important but I just wanted to get my money out of these so I could take care of this without my family sacrificing anything. That has been accomplished as far as I can see at this point. I did something stupid and I know I will regret not having these coins later. That is the price of my lack of good judgment!!!
  • I think that eBay sellers should charge somewhere near the actual shipping cost. If you want to tag on a percentage for the auction listing, that's fine, but tell me what it's for. I feel kind of ripped off when I pay $5 for shipping and it costs the seller $1. Of course I'm unusually irritable about eBay shipping fees, so it could just be me image
  • ianp I do my share of complaining also. I can understand a buck or 2 to help pay for time to wrap, go to usps, etc. Its the listings that say 12.50 for say an unopened box of us mint rolls, insurance your choice and extra. Now I feel that's way out of line. I sold a buyer 4 proof sets last night. They were listed at $5 + ins each. I ended up charging the the guy $11 s/h and $400 ins at $5.20. I put the 20 coins in a pcgs blue box, I put bubble wrap between the slabs so they didn't rattle. Put that into a cardboard box and wrapped it w/brown paper. My actual shipping cost, 2 lb 11 oz w/signature conf was$9.15. Insurance charge was actual usps rate. Was I out of line????
  • Yeah I know what you mean. Adding a buck or so in for uncertainty (like you did) is fine by me, but it's when sellers actually plan to factor in their fees that makes me mad. Shipping charge should be for shipping...nothing more (unless you state otherwise). I think we agree on that image
