    hey Ken

only if someone else bids on them!!! Baley, do you think, as i do, that they are most likely very early strikes that somehow managed to avoid any contact?? that a miracle!!!

Big hit on Jeff's shoulder on the D-Mint coin, and I don't like that spot on his cheek. The P-mint has a bunch of crud around the obverse rims. It is funny, in the big pictures, they really do look like matte proofs, but in the smaller pictures, they look like regular circ. strikes. Must be something with his lighting or editing of the big pics.

I agree, good pictures, ordinary coin. I'll pay 5¢ for it.

    hey Mark

thanks for the critique, it might carry more weight if you had a better grasp on the difference between "big hit" and "unstruck planchet flaw" but i guess that's still OK. also, after looking at quite a few examples of this issue and more Jeffersons than i'd care to remember, i can assure you that the appearance is anything but that of a regular circ strike in either picture and most definitely not a lighting anomaly. they are exceptional early strikes and apparently not unique.

as for the troll, i guess it's a slow day!!!image

yes, that sounds right, I mean, every year, some specific coins are going to be among the first strikes, and some small percentage of those are going to escape serious marks, by some chance.

kudos to those with the luck and/or patience to search for these and find them.
