You are right Russ and I got interrupted by the wife, kid, and my mother calling for PC support when I was typing that. It was my intention to also highlight that.

Susan...I wouldn't call it an "error in your ways". I think you were trying to be nice and had thought it was 2 kids in a schoolyard who didn't realize everything is already worked out and were still yelling at each other. There is just so much to this that it is easy to miss. Joe (Poe58) is rude, apparently dishonest (cleaned coin is NOT BU and his return policy was set up to be virtually unable to be done), and stubborn beyond reason. He doesn't think things through, he won't admit mistakes, and he thinks others should listen to him even in the face of falsehoods.

He, imho, is worse than the worst person I have argued with on the CU forums since coming on. And is worse than ANY other ebay seller I have dealt with. AND is worse than any dealer I have ever met.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

<< <i>You can defend him if you wish....he needs it. Maybe you do it from niceness or from being a seller yourself and, obviously not having read his diatribes in the other thread, you wouldn't know the background. However, unless, and until, he is man enough to own up to his mistakes and apoligize to people, I will not let a friend buy from him. He is a lost person due to his own problems that he vents out against others. >>

Trust me -- having just given her the quick rundown of the last few weeks and over 700 posts, she sees it now. I've dealt with her before, and I can assure you all that she's no Poe.

It's truly funny, no make that truly sad, that people in this day and age are so wrapped up in their own little world that they refuse to try and teach someone else the correct or accepted way of doing things.
  • Poe58 (Joe),
In light of everything I've just read, I have to ask these questions. I am asking them civilly in the hope that you will answer in the same vein.

    1) What is so hard about dealing honestly? Given all of the problems you have had to deal with, along with the character defamation, how is it possibly worth it not to just be honest in your business dealings?

    2) Don't you think that, looking at the big picture, you would have a better chance of true success if you represented your items fairly and unconditionally guaranteed every item you sell? Dishonesty will only ruin your business in the long run.

I ask these things as an eBay seller who has founded my business on sound business practices and customer satisfaction, so I know it can be done. To not be honest in your business dealings puts a black mark on truly great hobby.

Knowing full well that these questions will probably not be answered, this is my last post in this thread.

  • Hello
Susanlynn9 you do not ask the question in a civil manner! In fact your questions are worded in a manner that condemns me before I even undertake the effort to answer them! You assume that I am not an honest seller! I am in fact! Matthew is the conman perhaps you would do better to address him with the negative rhetoric. He has possession of both the coin and the cash. If you like I can give you the tracking number that proves this!

    Thanks Joe

Just as I think it can't be any more ridiculous, it does.

Easy with the drama queen stuff there..... I don't think poe has qualified yet for martyrdom..... image

    Hello Matthew

By similar I mean almost Identical with the exception of the one with the S mint mark!

You still have the coin and the cash. I have gained nothing! I can’t see what it is I have gained? You on the other hand have done quite well!

Oh, the 1877-S HALF DOLLAR? Is that what you were afraid of getting in the mail? With the exception of the S mint mark and the DIFFERENCE IN SIZE? Forgot about that one, sorry, but it is just as unlikely as the others. Oh well. Anyway, quit whining. I tried to send you your frigging coin, which would have put us back where we started, but you refused it.

Edited -- I'm not sure how I've "done quite well" either. I'm out $43 in ANACS fees, $8 to mail the thing to you, Joe (fat lot of good that did), and the considerable time expenditure to get everything pulled together to fax to PayPal, your local PD, etc. Let's figure the market doesn't completely tank, when I'm satisfied this is good and blown over I might get thirty bucks for the coin, honestly represented. So I've got a small net loss, as do you. Thanks a million.

In the orignal thread I compiled a list of objectionable stuff that was taken directly from the thread. maybe you could reference that.

  • mirabela You may joke all you wish, but I notice you avoid the fact that you have the coin and the cash! I will be there when you try your scam on the next person! You remind me of the clown shaking one hand to keep people from looking at the other! Don't worry Russell will defend you!

That's completely incorrect. I brought Poe here not the other way around. Someone named Mark caused me to be here.

My mistake then catfish (see poe, that isn't that hard to do now is it?).
Whether it was you racing to call him or him you, it is still the same.....he has been rude, arrogant, belligerent, and you have been there defending him and his practice and acting like you are some knight in shining armor.
btw....unlike your buddy, I didn't "lie", I was mistaken. The difference is that I ASSUMED when I posted. Unlike when he called a cleaned circ coin BU. Big difference there.

As for poe-the coin-mirabela......wasn't it true that an attempt was made to return the coin but poe rejected it (refused delivery)???
Now, he makes it seem like Matt never tried to return it and was trying to scam and keep the coin with a refund?

Poe....anyone with more than half a brain (ie.....everyone else but you and catfish who defends you no matter what even when you are proven wrong) can read the original thread, see in the first post that Matt wanted to RETURN the coin, get a refund, and be on his merry way. You, and your auctions, demanded items have insurance in order to be returned (pretty assinine thing to demand). He forgot/didn't get it, tried to contact you to get it added in case he wanted to return it.

Now, you make it out like he was out to swap the coin on you and return crap (ummmm....hard to beat giving you back something worse than you gave him, right?????).
And, you like to claim that he has the coin AND the money like he did that on purpose (I guess to a feeble mind, sending a coin back while refuting it with paypal and having it refused BY THE ORIGINAL SELLER was some masterminded scheme over a ton of money and a highly sought after, rare, coin......right????)

Any legitimate beef you may have had is tossed out by your verbal tirades, your immature attitude, your deceipt and deception, and your own scheming. You attacked the ONE person who actually felt sorry for you even after all the BS you have spewed (aside from catfish). Susan was actually trying to defend you for awhile and you come out swinging. No wonder you aren't married. No one can even try to help.

Also funny that catfish, after I pointed out that his sig file called you out in the open, has changed it. It appears catfish isn't as smart as he thought to have that there in the first place.....or, is he??? Maybe he knew it would be something recognized as about you??? image

Catfish...as for your new sig....about teaching someone.....maybe you aren't that great of friend to your mason-master after all......if you truly felt as you stated early on in the first thread, you should have headed-off the moronic spewing that poe has blubbered since then.

Just as funny is how he feels about Russ and then he keeps using one of Russ' icons imageimage

Poe....you keep having to change/adjust your story each step of the way. Be man...ADMIT you were wrong and got caught. Atone. Move on. Life is too short to be as bitter as you are.

I have the money, which was and is mine. I have the coin, because you wouldn't take it back. End of story. Would you rather I left it at the PO to get auctioned off as unclaimed mail? I actually considered that.

It's your second sentence here that troubles me a little more, Joe -- if you really do wish to end up in a courtroom with some judge looking at you like you are a three-headed chicken or a square egg, keep it up. To win a libel suit in most states, a person has to do three things: prove malice, prove the falsehood of the statements in question, and prove damages. I've got two out of three in the bag already. If you are insinuating that you are going to try to interfere with any future trades of mine -- i.e. cause damages -- you'd better think twice.

I am posting to this thread simply to keep my name in the clear. In particular, when Catfish wrote

<< <i>... I brought Poe here not the other way around. Someone named Mark caused me to be here. >>

the Mark he references is not me. Though, that said, I personally hope Catfish sticks around because aside from his blindness about Poe, he seems to have a useful and good perspective on other issues.
