Seeking 1944-S Jefferson "dollar Nickel" information

seeking information on 1944-s Jefferson Nickels that have a die crack through the S mintmark on the reverse, it also goes through monticello. Know as $ nickels. Any idea what they are worth. I remember seeing them in the 1970's listed as such. Any information appreciated.

Well, the only information I can really give you, is that the die crack doesn't stop on the S it goes through the S and goes all the way through monticello, and up above the S through another letter, that's one way how you make sure you aren't buying a fake...Another thing I just bought mine in very high mint state for 10 bucks, after tax....So yeah, it's an affordable piece I suppose. If you would like to own one, I might check in with my dealer to see if he has anymore, he has lots of error goodies.
