ATTN Sellers If you want to get paid right away , TAKE PAYPAL!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry just venting. I bought a stupid $6 card and just got a non paying bidder notice on the 5th business day after the sale. If a seller is so concerned they should take paypal. I can't send them my payment the star trek way, I have to mail it!!!

  • Always give the benefit of the doubt if there is any question over his intentions, and the only way to get answers is good communication.

Once a few years back I sold a number of items at once on eBay. One of the winners mailed me a money order, which I promptly cashed. About a week later, I emailed him asking if he had sent payment yet. I had gotten his payment mixed up with another auction... honest mistake, which was smoothed over, and I ended up getting positive feedback from him because I was open and honest (and extremely apologetic image ).

Packman - that is not fair. Did it state payment due within 5 days in listing?
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!
  • Agreed. It bugs the $%#^ out of me when I have to get a money order (as they will hold a Pcheck for ten business days) for a ~$15 item.

Join the future guys. At least offer the bank account only Paypal option if credit card fees eat into your profit.

Also, I dislike the "please fill out this lengthy Auction Helper thing to expedite your order even if you already paid, and don't blame us if you get a ton of SPAM afterwards." "And after you fill out the form, go get a MO as we don't take Paypal."

  • In my paypal notice,I ask the buyer to let me know how they are paying and to give me there address. I do this so I know if the buyer plans on paying. About 50% reply. Maybe if you email the seller and let him/her know your sending payment. It just helps to have good communication between buyer and seller.

I completed the ebay checkout and notified the seller that the payment was going out that day. some sellers want there money immediately and they refuse paypal , you can't have it both ways. also , it was a 6 freaken dollar item!
  • Duncan,
I hate paypal. I also hate sellers that send payment reminders inside of 10 days. It sounds like the seller's problem isn't that he doesn't take paypal, but rather he is a tool. Have you dug up any more 77's for me??? Take care,

according to ebay isnt 2 weeks allowed?
    Good for you.
  • I would not take Paypal even if they were giving away 1 million dollars for new accounts.. They screwed me out of 400 dollars, which I have proven to them that they did and they still refuse to release my account. Have any of you ever actually read their seller protection plan?? First line is the sellers protection plan is to protect buyers from fraudlent transactions. They leave too many loopholes for buyers to abuse to get their money back even if you follow their rules to the letter they will still back down when faced with a chargeback from a CC company.

My situation involved me selling a 300 dollar card to a buyer in Chicago. Apparently he had a nice little scam going under another user name on Ebay. He sold a ton of cards he did not own took payment via paypal and then transferred the money into another paypal account and bought a ton of high dollar cards. After I got the payment I sent the card insured with signature confirmation like Paypal requires and to a confirmed address also like Paypal requires. Well shortly after I recieved payment but before an auction I was wanting to get ended (gonna be about 450.00)Paypal caught up with his activities and immediatly froze the balance of my account as well as those of 3 other sellers who sold cards from this buyer. The funds have since been taken from my account and apparently returned to the buyers who were scammed by this person. The buyer of my card has since disappeared with about 2000 dollars worth of cards. We(me and the other 3) are seeking all means to get our money back either from Paypal or from this buyer.

That vent being said, I have to accept the fact that payment will be slower getting to me now, so far though I have not had a major decrease in sales, around 4% decrease, but couple that into not paying Paypal fees I am probaly coming out a bit ahead.

I just feel that eventually Paypal is going to be put down, either because more and more sellers are slowly backing away from it or the government will finally get the stuff it needs to put them out. Louisiana already has an order for them not to conduct business in their state, but it is tied up in appeals. Apparently California, Texas and Nebraska all have people in their attorney general's offices looking into their business pratices.

I'm not taking the side of the seller, but it sounds to me that they may have sent the non-paying bidder notice for the wrong item. If not, their eBay business will be going down in flames.

I hate impatient sellers. And its always over a $5.00 card . Like its gonna break the guy if he doesn't get his 5 bucks the next day for a card that would probably sit in his store for a year. But I don't sell, so I guess I shouldn't pass judgement on someone who does it for a living. I like Paypal, but I own eBay stock and eBay owns Paypal, so I guess I am a little biased.

  • I hate impatient buyers.. I ship the next day first thing after I receive payment. I give the option of Express Post but every buyer is too cheap to pay for that it seems but yet they complain after only 5 days of not receiveing the item they won from me and they live in the US and I'm in Canada.. BLAH!... venting.. image
