Im very sorry for your loss, I remember when I lost my grandfather, I never even got to say goodbye, I was happy to here I passed with a smile on his face. My prayers are with you and your family, your mother was probably a great person.

My sympathy to you and your family, Dennis. I understand what you experienced when you saw the cross in the sky. The day my wife died, I knew it would be that day. When I got up, I couldn't rouse her. I talked with her and told her that this day she would be in heaven with God and not to be afraid. I told her when the time came if she saw a light to go towards the light and not look back. I have no way of knowing if she heard me, but I've been told the last sense to go is a person's hearing. I believe she heard me. I had promised some parts to a customer about 40 miles North of my shop that day. I told my wife I was going to run to Ludington, and that I'd come right back. I told her our daughter would be here anytime, and she'd sit with her until I returned. I got to Ludington, had the parts unloaded got my pack slip signed and headed home. It had been real gray and over cast all that morning. About a mile and a half from my customer place of business, the sun came out so bright and white it hurt my eyes when I looked up in the sky. I thought, it's going to be a nice day today afterall. As I drove along my eyes kept being drawn to the sun, and I was puzzled because it was so brilliant white. The sun isn't white. Then thru the clouds a quite a bit away from this light I saw an orange ball. It was the sun. I realized then that this bright white light was my wife and she was telling me goodbye. Another few miles down the road and my cell phone rang. It was my daughter. Her and my son had been having coffee in the kitchen and went to check on their mother. She was dead. I told my daughter as I drove and talked I already knew it. That we'd just said goodbye to each other. I really get emotional when I think about this.
Ray, you are not the first person to tell me of such a story. I was beginning to think that my mind was playing tricks on me when I talked to my Mom after she had passed, and saw that incredible sky and cross. With your story, and the other similar stories that I have been told, I am so happy to know that it really was her talking to me. It gives me great comfort to know that she is in Heaven and at peace. Thanks for sharing your story, as I know that it must be very painful for you to recall.
your killing me softly with your words - such a beautiful non-eulogy. The photo is very nice - I would enlarge and frame if I were you. It's very nice.
