1975 redsox psa 10

I usually don't complain much about over/under grading as I feel it washes out but this has to be one of the worst I have seen. I haven't sent many 75's but the ones Ihave never get over an 8. how did this piece of crap get a 10. I am pretty upset I had to waste my time clicking the link to see that card. how many print blemishes does it take to knock the card down!!!!!!!!!!

Print spots are so common on 75s that I guess they don't count off for it. That one on the left border is pretty egregious, though. I must say that otherwise the card looks really sharp, but for the $400 or so it will bring, I'd want one without that spot. Too bad there's not such a thing as a 10PD.

Man, that card is a disgrace in that holder! It seems that the grading team of Wonder and Magoo has been assigned to slabbing '75s lately... check out this beauty that DSL just auctioned off...

If that Sox card is the worst PSA 10 out there, then surely this Ryan has to be the worst PSA 9... so diamond cut it barely fits in the holder and the lettering is nearly cut off at the top. Atrocious!

I was working on the 75 minis for awhile. Finding 8's or better without any printmarks seemed to be very difficult - so much so that i quit the project. That Red Sox and Ryan card are good examples why.

As a former owner of this set, here's my 2 cents:

1 cent: I have never seen a print dot like the one on the PSA 10 ever knock the card grade down or give it a qualifier. Buy the card -- not the holder.

1 more cent: The Ryan card is not diamond cut. It is tilted in the holder. The image is at an angle, but the centering meets the requirements for a 9. See the above for my advice on how to deal with this one as well.

cent #1 - agreed. I was expecting major car crash; this ten looks like a minor fender-bender to me. Easy one to deal with - bid accordingly.

cent #2 - disagree, to a point. While the Ryan is tilted in the holder, it is also the slightest bit diamond cut too. Regardless, it 's a moot point because it definitely falls into 9 territory.

Also, the 75 Highlights centering goes by the letters. The apostrophe in '74 is usually close to the edge, even on 9s.
