I like it when a seller can have a little fun with their stuff. Best way to make something out of an otherwise very ordinary and undersirable coin (for me, anyway).
The irony of this thread is one of Pushkin's pet peeves was forum members using this forum to advertise their EBay sales. His philosophy was let someone else find it and post it here. Somewhere up in Maine I know he's smiling.
Neat Flying Eagle. I checked his other auctions out and the CWT's caught my eye. I think the "shoot him on the spot" tokens are pretty cool. I think I'll bid on one! My father gave me an union 1863 token that has the obverse of an indian head cent and the reverse is the same as the our navy obverse. I can't seem to find anything to identify rarity or value. I looked on the CWT site but couldn't find a pic that was close to it. I'm assuming other than it's "neatness" it's worth piddly.
Is this a $1,000,000 coin? Probably not. Is it a $500,000 coin? Doubtful. Is it a $100,000 coin? I wish it were. Is it NATURALLY TONED? Don't bet the farm on it, or even the little woman (unless you are looking for a divorce).
What is it with this trend of people taking problem coins and artificially toning them to hide the fact? Maybe to someone who doesn't care about coin collecting and just wants a nice novelty piece, it's ok, but to AT a coin that has problems and then not discuss the problems for the benefit of someone who might have a more serious interest in the coin, is wrong, IMO.
