From 650 BC the Lydian stater
featured a lion on its obverse.
One of the earliest coins
known reflects the fascination
that man has always held
for the so-called "King of the Beasts".

We find lion coins everywhere, in every culture and time period. Their importance as a symbol probably can't be overestimated.
Everyone has posted some lion coins from time to time and some forum members have been collecting them for a while. As time and the page height of this thread permit, I thought it might be fun to create a definitive lion coin thread. Post what you have-it should be fun.
