ebay is such a cesspool for fakes and ripoffs it's unbelievable. And yet, just as I was about to delete all my links out of disgust and frustration, a coin I need appears. However, it's probably a fake or a ripoff as well..... grrrr.
Wow! I can't believe how many bids the tradedollar has on it. It's almost like the people who collect them are so tired of buying fakes they jump on the chance to bid on one that's real even though they will never receive it----------------------BigE
I bid on an auction where the bidder's IDs were kept private that was a scam..None of the bidders could contact one another to find out if anybody knew anything.
Wanna have some fun? Email them, tell them you live nearby and if you win the auction you'd like to pay in person and pick up the coin at the same time. See how fast and creative they backtrack.
Here's a thought. Try adding a new registry set containing the coins and see if the serial numbers show up in someone elses set and then try to find out which registrant has that coin. Then you know it's a scammer.

I would be willing to bet the top 3 to 5 bids got 2nd chance offers to boot.

It's truly funny, no make that truly sad, that people in this day and age are so wrapped up in their own little world that they refuse to try and teach someone else the correct or accepted way of doing things.

Let me think about that for a minute...........Uh No
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
Just a quick comment. Before I came to the Collectors Universe Board and learned I shouldn't bid on auctions like this, I bid on an 1886 Liberty Seated Quarter in MS62 PL slabbed by ANACS. The seller had zero feedback and the the picture of the slab was just a blur. His opening auction price was $525. I bid and no one else did. I sent my check and I received one of the most beautiful coins I now have in my collection, a coin I might add that's worth far more than I paid. It turned out the guy was getting a divorce and had to sell his coins to settle with his wife. He had other coins as well, but he never listed any more of them on Ebay. He did offer some to me by private sale.
I was going through a dealers inventory today at Long Beach and came across the exact coin this guy is trying to sell. I talked to the dealer and he is aware of it.

I sent them one asking for a larger image of the coin.

<< <i>You can just pop the coin on your scanner. That would be fine and would only take a couple minutes.

Those are the same images that you have in the auction on eBay. I need
LARGE high resolution scans of the coin.
