Went to the store last night and there sits the coinstar machine!! I check the coin return (goes back to the old payphone days!) and I find out that the machine doesn't like silver coins!! SCORE!! $1.85 in silver coins, including a merc!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!
