Why is my auction going for so much money

Hello everyone I have a question maybe some of you ebay Gods can answer. Why is my auction going for so much money? As far as I have researched there is nothing fancy about these three Washingtons. And to boot they are not even gems. Have you guys ever had this happen to you? Am I missing something? This thread was not generated to to sale the coins I am just curious to why someone is willing to pay the currently price for three ms-64 washingtons. Crazy Money

  • No clue?????? Doesn't seem like registry material, and you could pick them up raw on ebay for probably a buck or less a piece...............somebody must really need some plastic image

This has happened to me a couple of times, but only as last second snipes. In all cases, the coins were returned to me under the provisions of my return policy as they paid too much. I hope this will not happen to you.

Stacy - I wonder if you get questions (or grief) from people not knowing what APO is?

i don't think it's too much at all. at $82 right now, there's 90 bucks worth of plastic sitting there.

actually, i think the coins are closing at face, & your losing $$$ on the plastic!

  • Your a lucky guy if those were economy submissions or freebie submissions.
But them moderns seem to be really crazy nowadays.
People are going crazy for them it seems.
Are any of those dates hard to get to fill in a registry collection.
I noticed on my Memorial cent collection, that the last five or six pennies to get, appeared to be in high demand.
Don't really know why, billions of pennies were struck for those years.

Just takes the right two bidders to come along.

This happens and this is an example of it, you have an underbidder that has 23 negs in the past year, some for nonpayment. My guess is that he and the current high bidder have gone at it before and the underbidder is bidding up the auction out of revenge, anger or whatever. You might end up with a no sale if this is the case of two personalities clashing.

I think you had a bidder who put in a high bid figuring that he would get it at a lower price and then you had another bidder come along with the same idea.....when the 2 bidders crossed paths you got a nice rise.....in their minds just the cost to slab the coins would be $75 + so really its not that high....only high if you bought the coin not the plastic....enjoy the $$$
