I got lot #716 Liberty seated Quarter 1889 PR-65 Cameo.

Looks like it could go PR66 or DC.

Nope got outbid on all 3 lots I wanted.

#1154 1904 PF62 Morgan was the one I really wanted. It went for more than $500 than I was willing to pay.

Yes, I won #767 for my quarter collection. It's a toned 1949 PCGS MS67, a beauty! Bear, that was one helluva coin you won, I had it marked in the catalog, but it wasn't me runnin' up the bid. Congrats!

The only bid I made was on the 49p Strat won. Placed a bid of $1350.00 which was the winning bid. Unfortunately the tie went to the auction floor bid.image Looked like a beauty Strat! You must of viewed it in person so I'm sure it is as nice as the pictures looked. Congratulations!

I have one high Internet bid in -- no results are posted from the floor yet for this item...
  • Well.... considering 80% of their auctions had no pictures (including their web site) and I didn't attend the actual auction on the floor..... image
    no....

Looks I may have won one item (unless I was tied by a floor bidder):

I found a way to see what the lots sold for-----I did a search by seller and included items sold for the last 2 days on E-Bay---seems the opening floor bid began in each lot with my internet bid, not much of a chance to win when they use that bid to start the auction off with even though they were substantially over the minimum bid posted on the website--------------BigE

    Rick,

Yes, the 49P is gorgeous, having a ring of rainbow toning around the peripheries. I rated it a 7 out of 10 for its eye appeal and color. I felt there were a couple slightly better color quarters in the sale, but the other 67's had obvious marks, while this one is very clean for the grade. It was the one I wanted most, although $1400 was the final bid.

I observed their online bidding process throughout the evening, and it ran fairly well, even though there was some slowness in receiving bids from the internet. Many times, the floor bidders were aggravated because they had to wait for internet bidding to finish, so some of them gave up when their floor bids were topped. The internet bidding does slow down the floor auction, so last minute bidders on the floor and the internet have a bit more time for a final bid. This is important, because from what I've observed and experienced, the last thing a floor bidder wants is last minute action on a lot he thinks will be his. So, those of you who bid on the internet do have an impact on the auction. Floor bidders either have to bid one increment higher, or give up.
  • Strat,

Looked up the bidding history of the 49p you won. Explain this one to me?!?!image Why so many bids at $1350?

Assuming my bids were executed properly, it appears I won 2 lots, one being #1065, a decent enough looking toned Morgan dollar.

John was REALLY excited to get the coin and kept raising his hand even though no one else was bidding from the floor. Since he was only bidding against himself they counted the bids but kept it $1350.

Hmmm, I can't explain so many bids at $1350. I was bidding on several lots in a row, and wasn't watching the computer screen for internet bids, and did not see an underbidder on the floor. Hey, maybe it was Frattlaw! Nah, he doesn't do quarters. Anyways, I did win the lot at $1400, but will let you know if I found out otherwise.

I can't keep up with all these auctions. The current pace is insane.

    Bear:

I looked at that 1889 Seated Quarter...I agree, its worth a shot as a 66. Nice coin. Congrats.
(Don't know if it'll DCAM though)
